Body Shaping

Vaser Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure for the removal of unwanted fat. Because it involves the use of ultrasound technology to breakdown the fat cells before they are removed by suction, there is less damage to surrounding tissue than with traditional liposuction procedures, and consequently patients experience a shorter recovery time.

What is Vaser Liposuction?

The body’s cells all naturally vibrate, but amplifying this natural process by VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) makes fat cells break down without other cells that vibrate at a different frequency being affected. Gentle suction can then remove the liquefied fat cells through small incisions that do not even need stitches.

Where can the Procedure be used?

Areas such as the upper and lower abdomen, thighs, back, arms and chin that commonly store fat are often treated by this method, although it can also be used on many other areas including the buttocks, knees and ankles. It can also be used to treat gynaecomastia (also known as man boobs) in men. Often more than one area can be treated at the same visit, saving time. For reshaping or sculpting the body with immediately noticeable results this is an ideal treatment, and the improved appearance often becomes more apparent as time goes on.

Main Advantages

Busy people will appreciate being able to return to work more quickly following vaser lipo suction than if they had undergone traditional liposuction. Most people can resume their normal activities in 48 hours and go back to work in a week. Because it is less invasive, this procedure is also safer. Typically there is less bruising, blood loss and scarring and it is usually performed under local anaesthetic. Because the body’s collagen production is stimulated, many patients find they are left with tighter skin than they would be with conventional liposuction procedures.

As with any cosmetic procedure, careful consideration is necessary before deciding to go ahead. The NHS suggests that you should ask yourself certain questions before deciding, and to postpone the decision if you are suffering from depression or other psychiatric disorders.

If you decide to have vaser lipo, be prepared to wear a compression garment for as long as your doctor recommends depending on the area treated and follow his advice regarding when it will be appropriate to resume physically demanding activities such as sports.
