Success in Business, Do planning or luck!

By

Successful entrepreneurs and organizations depend on luck to have. Both, organizations and entrepreneurship, success are not the result of chance. Perhaps those who cling to the statistical odds, they continue to think that luck will accompany them in business endeavors. The truth is that the harder you work the luckier you get.

Luck is a natural consequence of constant hard work. In the case of organizations and entrepreneurs, that hard work depends on how well you define and execute business strategy. I am convinced that a strategic plan will increase the likelihood of success.

The question we must start solving entrepreneurs and leaders of successful companies is if they have a strategy faces to achieving objectives. Those clear what the strategy should start by disclosing and consequently run.

Disclosure seems simple, but in reality is a challenge. Often the ego of the leaders played them last morning, they assume that everyone in the organization rowing in the same direction and that all employees are his followers. To see if the strategy is properly disclosed, would suffice to ask any employee if they know the strategy and if so, whether they can explain. The quality of the answer may diagnose whether companies have actually disclosed or not the strategy.

The next step is execution. This is where teamwork should prevail over individuals. To do this, identify the key leaders who will contribute to the execution. However it is not just enough to have the best and brightest leaders in organizations. Many business leaders have chosen to hire professionals with outstanding skills, even well above those of the market or competition. Others, in contrast, choose their intuition and instead of hiring leaders with many skills, training professionals internally and help them develop the skills necessary to implement the strategy skills. That is more interested attitude fitness. The best is when the perfect balance between these two qualities is achieved.

What is important is that the leader (entrepreneur or president) knows to surround him with good collaborators. For this, the leader must be able to identify which of their colleagues who follow the strategy and the plan as well. The latter are called collaborators or even toxic leaders. Usually these are the critics instead of providing arguments or contrast with any decision of the leader or leaders.

The recommendation for entrepreneurs and leaders is to define the strategy and execution. Followed it must know how to choose and monitor their people. The identification of toxic is the challenge of the leaders, as they must have the courage to face them and persuade them to put them on board. Of course, it should empower those who really are committed to the organization. For toxic, the recommendation is to contrast ideas and be prepared to argue well; otherwise they will be nothing but rebels without a cause and consequently have little or no luck.
