How to light your bedroom
A room can be totally transformed by the type of lighting you use. However, in a bedroom, you may want to go for more than one type of light depending on what effect you are looking for.

Early Morning
It can be difficult to find the motivation to get out of bed in the morning. There are many tasks to be faced, and often you just want to curl up and hide under the duvet. However, many of us don’t have the luxury of sleeping late most days. Lighting specialists suggest that some bright lights can be good to wake you up in the morning and help you get ready to face the day. A good overhead light with a strong bulb can make the morning routine a lot easier.
Going out
Whether you are going out in the morning or evening, there is usually some close-up work, such as putting make-up on or shaving, associated with going out. Lighting specialists say that you will need some good light and possibly extra light for this. Many mirrors come with a light attached, and whether you place this over your sink or at your dressing table, you’ll be able to see exactly what you are doing. No more shaving nicks or pokes in the eye with a mascara wand!

Going to bed
Some people say that reading in bed helps them fall asleep. Many lighting specialists suggest low lighting rather than glaring lights. A dimmer switch can be useful to get the bedtime lighting just right. Table lighting can be helpful if the individual bulb is not too dark for reading; otherwise, this may strain your eyes. A happy medium is the best solution but it is a good idea if you have a light switch by your bed so that when you do get sleepy you don’t have to get out of bed to turn the lights off.
Blue Light
Blue lights can disturb your sleep. Keep phones and tablets outside your room if possible, and do not watch TV just before you go to sleep. Invest in an alarm clock rather than using the alarm on your phone, and you will be amazed at how well you can sleep.
It takes some effort, but making sure your bedroom has the light it needs when it needs it will pay off nicely.
