Attracting more than 5,000 visitors, the event is acknowledged as the premier show for everyone from all sectors of the retail, hospitality and food sectors. Major players in the industry including Nestle Ireland, Stephen’s Catering and Henderson Foodservices will be on hand to discuss the needs of everything from the single mobile caterer to corporations.

What to expect

More than 80 per cent of the event’s capacity is now full. Alongside the usual trade stands, this year marks the debut of the Great Taste Market, which will give visitors the chance to sample items from around 20 winning provincial producers.

ChefSkills

Once again, the ChefSkills Theatre attracts around 250 young chefs from the industry and catering colleges. It runs throughout the entire event, with live competitions to find the NI Junior Chef of the Year and NI Chef of the Year.

According to Licensed and Catering News, IFEX has a legacy as a training ground for talented young chefs and ChefSkills is a highly respected competition throughout the UK. It is seen as a showcase for potential employers showing a keen interest in the upcoming talent.

Salon Culinaire

More mature chefs have a chance to show off their talents in La Parade des Chefs, which showcases fantastic Cold Display and Edible Art skills in chocolate, marzipan, fats and other foodstuffs. Toby Wand and his team at Fresh Montgomery are working alongside event coordinators to ensure that 2016 offers the best in catering challenges with teams of eight chefs having just a few hours to impress!

Trade Stands

In addition to these competitions, there will be a wide range of trade stands from innovative new food products and displays of those new gadgets that no one can do without! In addition, companies that offer services to the industry – for example, food machinery auctioneers such as www.clarke-fussells.co.uk/ – will be available for you to discuss your requirements.

If you have any connection to the retail, hospitality and food sector industry, IFEX Food and Hospitality Show is definitely the place to go to take advantage of the fantastic networking opportunity no matter which side of the industry you are on.
