Is Rural Life Right for You?

By ruiiid5

Living in a rural area is something that many people dream of – if you are fed up with the noise, the traffic and the lack of wide-open spaces in the big city and want a slower pace of life, then moving to somewhere in the countryside could be just what you need.

There are lots of places in the UK where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of country living, from Stroud, voted the best place to live in the UK, in the county of Gloucestershire, to the beautiful Lake District further north, with plenty in between.

When you are embarking on your plans to escape to the country, it is a good idea to get to know various areas – go and visit, and get in touch with local estate agents like this Stroud estate agents https://www.tgres.co.uk/stroud-estate-agents/ who will be able to inform you about properties that come up and give you local information to help you choose a home suited to you.

However, before you do this, it is also good to think about both the pros and cons of moving to the countryside, as it can be a big shock if you have lived in the city for a long time.

Firstly, there is of course more space generally. If walking and spending time in nature is something that you love, then of course you are going to be able to get that peace and solitude much more easily when you live in the countryside.

If you want more privacy, it is easier to get this in the countryside, as houses are not crammed in like they are in the city.

However, there are disadvantages to consider too, and these include:

Transport. Getting about can be something that is much harder and if you don’t drive it can be very difficult as public transport is not as regular in rural locations.
