Building regulations and standards around materials are becoming more and more stringent, so it’s essential that those working within the built environment take the time to learn about advances and educate themselves on new techniques. Timber Expo provides visitors, such as those who work for a timber frame construction company, with the opportunity to visit supplier stands, attend free workshops and see some of the latest timber applications.

As part of a series of nine shows dedicated to the building and construction industries that will take place at the same time, Timber Expo will bring together more than 650 exhibitors, which include some of the leading names, such as Knauf Insulation, CAT and Portakabin Group. Visitors will be able to watch demonstrations using the very latest materials and techniques and this year’s event features additional theatres and zones, like the Offsite Theatre.

Key trends

A number of key trends will run throughout the show and one of the focuses will be on offsite construction, which has been shown to reduce waste to below 2% of the total material that is used. The growing sector will be highlighted at a dedicated theatre and awards programme and a range of topical discussions will be debated by industry experts – including why offsite construction is set to be a focus in the future and how volumetric construction can be used in sectors such as healthcare, residential and education.

Building safety is another priority for the show and this is important for any timber frame construction company, such as http://www.qtfhomes.co.uk. There will be the opportunity to gain crucial free CPD advice around product safety, changes to safety legislation and fire prevention strategies at a series of workshops and to speak to industry experts.

Networking opportunities

Another important element of this year’s Timber Expo will be the opportunity to network and share knowledge with others in the industry. There will be the chance to catch-up socially at the beer and ale festival and there will also be a dodgeball tournament and two casino evenings.
